Labro

Overview

It looks like a stone fan, Labro, opening out towards the Fuscello valley and Lake Piediluco: due to its spectacular position, an enchanted landscape can be admired from the village, embracing the lake and the mountains. There is a legend linked to the name of the village and its castle: 'Labro' is said to derive from the Latin 'aper, aprum, wild boar'. In fact, it is said that the local lord, during one of his many hunting parties, promised to build a castle on the spot where he would shoot the first wild boar. Even today, the village coat of arms depicts a wild boar under an oak tree. Finally, a taste of the product that most represents the territory will be a must: truffles, used to season delicious dishes, including fettuccine, gnocchi and lasagne.
