Spiaggia Santa Teresa

Overview

Salerno’s modern city centre

Today a popular gathering place among tourists and residents, Santa Teresa beach is one of the busiest urban beaches on the Salerno coast. It is located close to the city harbour and the maritime station, designed by star architect Zaha Hadid.

The facility, designed by Carlo Cuomo and Associates, features a series of ramps and stairs that lead to the beach. It is an innovative work that has created a modern meeting place, thanks also to the presence of an open-air bar, a solarium and an area for games and shows.

The beach is the meeting point between Palazzo Crescent, a semi-circular residential building, Piazza della Libertà and Salerno’s Villa Comunale, known as the city’s “garden”.

Continuing southwards, we come to the Trieste promenade, which is one of the most beautiful and evocative walkways in Italy. From here, you can enjoy the view of the Amalfi Coast, surrounded by green gardens and palm trees, just a few metres from the historic centre.
