The Underwater Archaeological Park of Baia

Overview

If respect and protection of the environment is everyone's duty, this is even more so in this part of the Campania coast whose shallow waters preserve archaeological evidence of great importance.

The Marine Protected Area of the Submerged Park in Baia was established in 2002 to protect this area where remains from the Roman era continue even below sea level.

In fact, the phenomenon of bradyseism, which has always affected this area overlooking the Phlegraean Fields, has caused the sinking of a large portion of the coastline and the ancient city of Baia that once stood on it.

You cannot miss the unique experience of plunging into these waters, under the guidance of experienced people, and admiring mosaics, statues, the remains of villas and a wonderful nymphaeum.

Glass-keeled boats give everyone the chance to admire from the air a unique heritage that the sea has preserved for many years.
