Overview
In the Church of Santa Maria di Romituzzo, numerous anatomical votive offerings (we are talking about no less than five thousand papier-mâché pieces), dating back to the 16th and 19th centuries, and an equal number of painted tablets, also dating back to the 16th and 19th centuries, are on display, currently hanging on the walls of the church. These are mute but eloquent testimonies to the special bond between the local people and the shrine.
