Badia

Overview

A must-see destination in the Dolomites

In the heart of Alto Adige, not far from the Austrian border, a valley opens up that includes some of the most famous and impressive destinations in the Alps. This is the Val Badia, a basin along the length of the Gadera river. It is usually divided into two areas, Alta Badia and Bassa Badia, linked by the Punt de Fer, the boundary between the borders of Badia and La Valle.

Take some time to explore this valley at a leisurely rate, uncovering all its remotest corners through the more than 400 kilometres of trails. Nature will leave you breathless in front of the Pisciadù waterfall or on the banks of the Lech Da Sompunt lake. Make a stop at the little church in Colfosco for a postcard view. Savour the mountain silence at the Pralongià plateau and watch the most beautiful sunset in Alto Adige at the Gardena Pass.

Round off your day with a dinner of canederli and turtres with the Dolomites as the backdrop in your journey of culinary discovery of the Ladin food and wine tradition.
