Dunes of Porto Pino

Overview

A desert of fine sand, amid dunes and wild vegetation

A magical place where an endless expanse of fine white sand, among rolling hills and wild vegetation, meets the turquoise waters that wash the southern coast of Sardinia. We’re talking about the picturesque Porto Pino beach, near the historic centre of Sant’Anna Arresi, a desert-like environment surrounded by Mediterranean scrubland and dotted with large dunes shaped by the wind.

The sand dunes of Porto Pino are among the most visited places in Sardinia during summer, among not only visitors who want to spend a relaxing day at the beach, but also those looking to explore a pristine paradise, among the large sand dunes and the delightful Porto Botte Pond where you can often see pink flamingos, little egrets and kingfishers.

To fully enjoy this wonder, we recommend visiting early in the morning, so that you can experience nature without the crowds that gather at the hottest times of the day.
