Cala Mariolu

Overview

The pearl of the Gulf of Orosei

It is undoubtedly one of the pearls of the Gulf of Orosei, on the central-eastern coast of Sardinia. A wild and unspoilt corner, a sea between blue and emerald green and pink and white pebbles mixed with sand that in these parts they call 'pùligi de nie', the snow fleas.

Welcome to the enchanting Cala Mariolu. Like all the coves along this stretch of coastline, it is surrounded by a cliff a few hundred metres long, making it difficult to access. From land, you can only reach it via a challenging trek through the Mediterranean scrub, which is only recommended if you are really experienced. You will find it much easier to reach it via the many boats departing from the nearby ports of Arbatax, Cala Gonone or Santa Maria Navarrese.

The enchanting depths of Cala Mariolu await you for a regenerating swim in absolute relaxation or for snorkelling to discover the many underwater wonders. Perhaps under the gaze of a peregrine falcon, a cormorant in flight or some lone dolphin that doesn't mind a visit to these wonderful waters from time to time.
