Nociglia

Located in the heart of the Lower Salento, Nociglia stands on a rise in the Serre Salentine and tells of an essence in which the beauty of nature and the spirituality of its people have always been intertwined. In addition to the Baronial Palace and the remains of the Castle, its churches are in fact the heart of the village: the Mother Church dedicated to St Nicholas, for example, but even more so the Chapel of the Madonna dell'Idri, which encloses the Byzantine Church of St Nicholas inside, like a precious treasure. Faith and tradition then unite every year, when tables are set in honour of St Joseph. Outside the village, on the other hand, nature is the real protagonist, where centuries-old olive trees draw the landscape of the Parco dei Paduli.
