Locus Festival 2023

Overview

Locus Festival, one of the highlights of summer in Apulia and one of the mainstays of the Italian music season, is back again this year.

The precursor to Locus Festival 2023 kicks off in Trani on 27 June with Simply Red on the iconic Piazza della Cattedrale, and with Sigur Ròs in Bari’s port area on 11 July, before continuing with a more intense events programme at Locorotondo: on 29 July, New Zealand’s Fat Freddy’s Drop mark the prelude to a week of great music in the town of Valle d’Itria from 8 to 14 August, with Baustelle, Verdena, Jeff Mills, The Comet is Coming, Ezra Collective, Fatoumata Diawara, Makaya McCraven, Roy Ayers, Louie Vega, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, and Sun Ra Arkestra among the first names announced.

The 19th Locus Festival will be a journey through beautiful Apulian locations, inspired by the title of a classic album by famous Nigerian musician Fela Kuti and American Roy Ayers: “Music of many colours”.

Artistic diversity has always been the hallmark of the festival’s musical programme: a line-up with no boundaries or limits, where pop mixes with black music, electronica, rap, song writing and many other sounds from Italy and around the world.

Other artists, dates and venues will be announced in the coming months. For more information, visit locusfestival.it
