Castrignano De' Greci

Overview

As its very name suggests, Castrignano de' Greci is a village that links its origins to the Hellenic ones: it is the land of 'Glossa grika', here the Griko dialect is still spoken, recovered and valorised with care and passion so that the cultural and linguistic roots of this territory are not lost. Strolling through the pretty centre, one can observe elements and architecture that narrate, by their presence, the village's past, such as the Clock Tower and the Baronial Palace, but above all in the narrow streets and small courtyards, called 'àvili' in Greek, which have maintained the legacy of the ancient civilisations that inhabited them over the centuries, leaving the imprint of their traditions and great culture.
