Teatro Regio in Turin

Overview

Three centuries of music, opera and artistic events

The main opera house in Turin, one of the most important in Italy and on the European and international scene, the Teatro Regio is located in the heart of the city, more precisely in Piazza Castello. Opened for the first time in 1740 following various renovations, today the theater retains its majestic exterior and eighteenth-century historic facade, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, while inside is a mix of modern, luxurious and contemporary styles. With a full calendar that every year offers a new season of opera and ballet, concerts, shows, musicals, collaborations and activities dedicated to families and schools, the Teatro Regio confirms its status as an artistic center of excellence. It has an intense presence in the video-recording industry productions and in world tours that together with participation in the Opera Vision project, give it a strong presence on the international scene. Don’t miss the Regio Opera Festival, a summer festival under the stars in the courtyard of Palazzo dell'Arsenale.
