Montaldo Roero

Overview

In the heart of the Roero, less than 1 hour from Turin, stands Montaldo Roero, a precious village nestled between the impressive Rocche. It is part of the Rocche del Roero Ecomuseum, an open-air museum dedicated to these uncontaminated ridges, deep chasms of compact sand that can reach height differences of hundreds of metres. This geological phenomenon of erosion formed long ago, and from certain extraordinary vantage points you can admire the sunset’s bright red glow on the rocks. The Ecomuseum has launched a series of thematic trails allowing visitors to discover the beauty and characteristics of the Roero. Through itineraries immersed in nature, it is possible to discover the traditions, work and products of the area.

In Montaldo Roero, you can also admire the Medieval Tower erected by the Roero family around 1374 next to an older castle belonging to the 'de Montaldo'. Another must-see is the Parish Church Ss. Annunziata for a journey through Romanesque and Gothic
