Overview
Perhaps it is in autumn that the landscape around Candelo best expresses its beauty, when the woods take on warm colours ranging from red to brown, the light becomes soft, and walks - on foot, by mountain bike or on horseback - become an almost magical moment. Once in the village, what strikes our eye is the Ricetto, the symbol of the settlement, which has remained practically unchanged over the centuries. This fortification, built in a position that made it impregnable, was used in peacetime as a depot and warehouse, and in the event of an attack it gave shelter to the population, who would lock themselves up there with their livestock. Today, a flower show is organized here every year in late spring, filling the ancient 'rue' with colours and scents.
