Via Mengoni

Overview

The road that leads to the Duomo

Via Giuseppe Mengoni is located in the historic center of Milan. It connects the extension on which stands the monument of Carlo Cattaneo, where it meets Via Santa Margherita, to Piazza Duomo, the beating heart of the city.

The road starts right in front of the most famous square in Milan and is among the most frequented to reach the famous Duomo. On the corner with the square stands the Palazzo dei Giureconsulti which on the other side overlooks the medieval Piazza dei Mercanti.

Continuing along the road towards the Teatro alla Scala you will find other splendid nineteenth-century or early twentieth-century buildings that give the street an elegant air and in harmony with the splendor of the entire area, full of sumptuous buildings. On the ground floor there are shops or historical shops.

At the opposite end the road intersects with Via Tommaso Grossi, an ideal continuation of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II which can be accessed in a few steps, diving among other historic buildings of the city.
