Overview
Housed in the eighteenth-century Gualteroni building, in the old town centre, the museum was established in 1974 to spread knowledge about the naturalistic aspects of the area, thanks to Giacomo Perego's donation of numerous mineral finds he owned. Inside, there is a section dedicated to earth sciences and a section dedicated to the animals that inhabit the area. Particularly interesting are both the large dioramas dedicated to local natural environments - of the forest, the mountains and the valley floor - and the two smaller ones, one on the camouflaging abilities of the ptarmigan, the variable hare and the ermine, and one showing a cross-section of nightlife in the countryside.
