Campo Ligure

Overview

Campo Ligure is a small rural village, dominated by the ancient Castle: it is located in the centre of the Stura Valley, a land of pastures, and it is precisely this characteristic of its territory that has made it a village known for its production of milk and cheese, with a unique flavour and very high quality. The symbol of this small village, however, must be sought in its artisan tradition and its history, which is intertwined with this territory: here, in 1884, master Antonio Olivieri opened a workshop where he worked filigree and, soon, other artisans followed his example, until there were thirty-three! The stories of the origins of this tradition that represents the village today are enclosed in the "Pietro Carlo Bosio" filigree museum, where around two hundred pieces are exhibited, grouped by geographical area of origin: Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America. Observing the collection, one can see the differences between the various schools of workmanship across continents and cultures. A journey within a journey, a continuous discovery.
