The Giro d'Italia 2026 was presented in Rome and, as per tradition, promises excitement along the roads of the whole country. Among the most eagerly awaited stages is the one in Friuli Venezia Giulia, destined to leave its mark.
On Saturday 30 May 2026, the Giro will return to FVG with the 20th and penultimate stage, one of the toughest and most decisive of the Corsa Rosa. The departure from Gemona del Friuli, on the 50th anniversary of the earthquake, takes on a strong symbolic value of memory and rebirth.
The route passes through historic villages and evocative landscapes, up to the grand finale on Piancavallo: a legendary double climb, the scene of Marco Pantani's exploits, which could decide the winner of the Giro. A stage that combines history, territory and great cycling.
