The Palazzo dei Musei in Reggio Emilia hosts an exhibition dedicated to the Reggio Emilia-born photographer Luigi Ghirri.
Focused on the conceptual dimension and a broader redefinition of the role of those working with images, the course offers Ghirri the opportunity to explore themes that have always been central to his work. The exhibition thus provides an occasion to reflect not only on the teaching of the photographic medium, but also on the processes of knowledge mediated through images, particularly creative ones.
In these lessons – which for Ghirri resemble the drafting of a map rather than a linear path (a kind of "map on which everyone can find their own route") – the artist alternates moments devoted to reinterpreting his own work and the history of images with others characterised by practical exercises on a variety of themes.
