Overview
On this street you will find the church of the same name dedicated to the saint, of whom the earliest records date back to the 11th century. The façade is made up of three large arches with beautiful capitals carved with figures of animals, people and plant motifs. In addition to the relics of St Euphemia and St Liberata, the church also houses many fine works of art, including a series of 15th-century frescoes depicting the Madonna and Child, a beautiful 16th-century oil on board entitled "Madonna with Child and Saints" by Cesare Cesariano, a 17th-century painting ofSt. Vincent Ferreri and Saints Helen and Agatha by Galeato Traversari, a counterfaçade altarpiece by Francesco Ghittoni of Piacen and an early 20th-century mural in the apse, depicting "St Euphemia in Glory with Angels", by Plinio Sidoli. This is one of the local historic and artistic attractions maintained by volunteers from the Italian Touring Club, through the "Aperti per Voi" ("Open For You") initiative.
