Borgo San Giuliano

Overview

Separated from the historic centre by the Tiberius Bridge, Borgo San Giuliano in Rimini is the ancient district of sailors and fishermen. Today it is a lively place full of activities and characteristic clubs. The sea is the protagonist of the village, the sea as life, a bet, an identity. Historic buildings and narrow alleys, colourful houses with wooden shutters, murals telling of local history and culture. It is not a coincidence that Federico Fellini was among the village's greatest admirers and that his films are populated by the suggestions, characters and stories that animated this special place. The spirit of the Borgo lives on in an event that takes place every two years in September, the 'festa de' borg'. Borgo San Giuliano is a district that closely guards its history, its being an 'area of sea culture', a city within a city.
