Piazza Bovio

Overview

The Palazzo della Borsa, designed by Alfonso Guerra and Luigi Ferrara in 1895, is now home to Naples' Chamber of Commerce. The staircase at the entrance is topped by two bronze lions made by Luigi De Luca. The building was constructed following the city's redevelopment of the new square named after Giovanni Bovio, a philosopher and politician who lived for many years within its walls. In 1898, the Neptune fountain was placed there, but with the advent of the works for Line 1 of the Naples Metro, the monument was returned to its original location in Via Medina, where it still stands today.
