Obereggen

Overview

Europe’s modern go-to skiing destination

A small town on the slopes of the Latemar, a mountain range in the Dolomites that stretches between the provinces of Trento and Bolzano, Obereggen is home to one of Europe’s most modern, popular ski resorts.
With breath-taking views of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites, you can practice various winter sports: from cross-country skiing to snowboarding, from night-time skiing on the artificially lit slopes of the Night Snowpark to an unforgettable tobogganing experience.

In summer, you can make the most of the fine weather to explore the surrounding area, which offers numerous nature hikes, suitable for all fitness levels.
In Nova Ponente, a neighbouring village, you can walk the trail to the Church of Sant’Elena, which offers fantastic views over the valley, or visit the village centre, home to Castle Thurn.

You will also find plenty of culinary delicacies typical of South Tyrol and the province of Bolzano.

We recommend stopping at the mountain huts to order a tasty dish of Canederli, bread dumplings made with onions, eggs and bacon, a portion of Tyrolean-style goulash with polenta, or a sweet apple strudel.
