Anterselva/Antholz

Overview

The international home of the Biathlon

Near the Austrian border, the municipality of Rasun-Antholz stands tall over the Anterselva valley. The village is known for being the home of the Biathlon, a discipline for which the resort now hosts the World Cup, welcoming athletes and fans from around the world who fill the arena with cheers.

The Anterselva Valley boasts many artistic and cultural attractions, among the beautiful natural landscapes of the Dolomites. Various hiking trails start from the municipality and its hamlets, allowing you to explore the entire surrounding area. You can don comfortable shoes and head for Lake Antholz, at an altitude of 1,650 metres at the foot of the Vedrette di Ries Group: it is not only the most beautiful in the area, but also one of the largest in the whole of Trentino-South Tyrol.

Also worth visiting are Hotel Bruggerwirt, with its 1835 Tyrolean “Stube” (alpine kitchen), and the Gothic-style Santa Walburga Church in Anterselva di Sotto.
