Sicily's most beautiful beaches
2 minutes
Sicily is a true paradise for sea lovers, with iconic beaches, hidden coves and unique natural landscapes. Each stretch of coastline offers a different scenery: from the white sands of San Vito Lo Capo and Mondello to the sculptured cliffs of the Scala dei Turchi, passing through nature reserves and beaches featured in films and TV series. The transparent waters, the seabed rich in life and the seaside villages make these beaches not only places to bathe, but also spaces where you can breathe in history, nature and authenticity. A perfect itinerary for those seeking relaxation, wonder, culture and an even more unforgettable Sicily.
From the south-east coast to the islands: coves and dream waters
On the Syracuse coast, Calamosche is a cove nestled in the Vendicari Oasis, famous for its tranquillity and natural beauty. Not far away, San Lorenzo offers clear sand and limpid sea. Moving on to Lampedusa, the Spiaggia dei Conigli (Rabbit Beach) is an international icon: a Caribbean corner frequented even by sea turtles. Among the smaller islands, Isola Bella, with its sandy isthmus in front of Taormina, offers picturesque scenery and ideal backdrops for snorkelling. At Oliveri, near Tindari, nature has created a spectacular beach with tongues of sand and small lakes, also visible from above.
Along the west coast: between reserves, villages and white cliffs
The Zingaro Reserve, between Trapani and Palermo, is a succession of crystal-clear coves immersed in the Mediterranean maquis. Scopello and San Vito Lo Capo are villages overlooking enchanting beaches: imposing stacks on one side, crystal-clear sand and Caribbean seabed on the other. Continuing southwards, the Scala dei Turchi, between Realmonte and Porto Empedocle, astonishes with its stepped white cliffs. Torre Salsa, a nature reserve between Siculiana and Eraclea Minoa, offers kilometres of unspoilt sand. San Leone, near Agrigento, on the other hand, is the heart of the seaside nightlife with clubs and water sports.
Beaches between art, tranquillity and cinematic atmosphere
Mondello, Palermo's beach par excellence, enchants with its Art Nouveau villas, white sand and changing colours. Punta Secca, made famous by the Commissario Montalbano series, captivates with its authentic atmosphere. At Capo d'Orlando, eight kilometres of coastline offer spectacular views of the Aeolian Islands, perfect for sunrises and sunsets. Porto Palo di Menfi and its nearby sandy beaches tell of a genuine seafaring soul, with fish dinners and local white wine. Finally, Sampieri, near Scicli, combines nature and industrial memory with the suggestive Fornace Penna overlooking the sea.
