Su Giudeu

Overview

A picture-perfect beach

It is no coincidence that it is often chosen as a set for films and adverts. With its long expanse of white sand, clear waters and shallow seabed, Su Giudeu is among the most charming beaches in Sardinia and all of Italy. Its name derives from the Sardinian pruppu giudeu, the species of octopus that inhabits this stretch of coastline.

Situated on the coast in the extreme south-west of the island, it has become the true symbol of the village of Chia. It is impossible to resist taking more than one photo of this picture-perfect landscape.

After relaxing in the sun, you can enjoy a rejuvenating dip in the idyllic waters. At low tide, you can walk to a small island rising from the sea just in front of the beach. You can stop there to gaze at the coast or watch the sun set over the sea.

Behind the sandy shore lies a small lagoon where you can spot some very elegant pink flamingos. If you prefer water sports to nature walks, you can hop aboard inflatable boats and jet skis that will take you on a discovery of magical hidden coves and corners.
