Parco Archeologico Monte Sirai

Overview

Il complesso minerario di Serbariu, che ha caratterizzato l’economia del Sulcis negli anni tra il 1937 e il 1964, è stato recuperato e ristrutturato a fini museali e didattici. L’impresa di recupero e valorizzazione del sito ha reso accessibili gli edifici e le strutture minerarie che compongono ora il Museo del Carbone, che offre una ricca raccolta di lampade da miniera, attrezzi, strumenti, oggetti d’uso comune, fotografie, documenti, filmati d’epoca e videointerviste ai minatori.

Inoltre, la galleria sotterranea espone le tecniche di coltivazione del carbone utilizzate a Serbariu, con ambienti accuratamente arredati con attrezzi e macchinari dell’epoca. La sala argani conserva, invece, il macchinario per il trasporto delle gabbie, dei minatori e del carbone.

Infine, il Museo offre un bookshop, nella quale è possibile acquistare libri e souvenir, una caffetteria e una sala conferenze dotata di 130 poltroncine e di un moderno impianto audio-video.
