Rignano Garganico

Overview

Rignano Garganico is a village that tells its story through its colours: here, the eyes first encounter the blue of the seabed, then caress the white of the houses and finally arrive at the orange of the citrus groves, filling the air with the scent of their prized fruit. It is located in the territory of the Gargano National Park and its soul has always been maritime, as witnessed by the Castle and the old town, the former with its role as an ancient sentinel of the sea, the latter with its houses built on top of each other as a defence strategy against pirates. Today, the node that best represents this bond is the port, which, with its more than 300 berths, is the departure point for Peschici, Vieste, the Tremiti Islands and Croatia. But also worth seeing are its beaches, including the hamlet of Lido del Sole, repeatedly awarded the Blue Flag.
