Candela

Overview

Candela is a small village in the southern Subappennino Dauno, which stands on two small hills, San Rocco and San Tommaso, and its history is closely linked to that of the Ofanto river, which flows nearby. The presence of this river and the Carapelle torrent make the area rich in vegetation: this greenness, the presence of woods and the strong beauty linked to nature, which here becomes almost wild, make Candela a place where you can let your gaze wander, where you can slow down your pace and listen to the slow passage of time away from the mad pace of the city. A medieval village, it will also welcome you into its historic centre, with its churches and buildings that recall the town's medieval past.
