Cannobio is a pretty and elegant little town reflected in the azure waters of Lake Maggiore, on the border with Switzerland. A village of ancient origins, it was an important commercial and strategic centre, and in particular the site of a lake fleet. Visiting the village, not to be missed are the sanctuary of the SS. Pietà, the collegiate church of San Vittore, the Palazzo della Ragione and the Torre Comunale, but perhaps the best way to get to know the soul of the place is to taste its local delicacies, perhaps in one of the lakeside cafés, when the lights reflect on the water and create plays and reflections. Among the typical dishes, you should definitely try the Pan Dolce di Cannobio: it is a rectangular-shaped cake with a golden colour, sprinkled with icing sugar made with hazelnuts and almonds, a real delicacy!
