Montelupone, one of the many "mounts" of the Marche region, is a charming town where history, art, and tradition blend harmoniously with a natural landscape surrounded by gentle hills that slope down towards the sea. Equipped green areas and nature trails make it an ideal place for lovers of "en plein air" tourism. At the top of a rounded hill stands the historic center, whose ancient city walls, still intact, enclose fascinating areas of historical, cultural, and tourist interest.
The most important and famous monuments are concentrated in the main streets and squares, such as the Palazzo del Podestà, which houses the civic art gallery, the "Nicola Degli Angeli" Historical Theater, dating back to the 19th century, the Monumental Church of San Francesco, the Historical Photography Museum, the Arts and Crafts Museum, and the Romanesque Abbey of San Firmano, dating back to 1200. These significant monuments preserve the customs and traditions of a past rich in history and art. Testifying to this heritage are the works of famous artists such as the renowned caricaturist Gabriele Galantara, known as "Ratalanga", painters Corrado Pellini and Cesare Peruzzi, and the humanist, jurist, and playwright Nicola Degli Angeli.
Over time, Montelupone has received various awards and certifications, demonstrating the richness of the territory where the recovery of the past and future-oriented projects coexist harmoniously.
The area boasts several typical products and agri-food excellences, including the Montelupone artichoke, which has recently become a Slow Food Presidio and a star of the annual festival held at the end of May, and the certified honey, promoted during the "Apimarche" fair at the end of August.
