Montefiore dell'Aso

Overview

Montefiore dell'Aso is a small village in the Piceno region, rising on the top of a hill, between the valleys of the Aso river and the Menocchia stream. Arriving in the village, one immediately notices the beauty of the perfectly preserved historic centre, where important sections of the town walls and six ancient towers remain. The place that most tells the story of local culture is the San Francesco Museum Centre, an itinerary organised in the spaces of the ancient Franciscan convent dating back to the 13th century. Visiting the Polo Museale di San Francesco, one finds oneself immersed in different atmospheres and themes, from Renaissance art with Carlo Crivelli to rural culture, passing through art, traditions and fascinating suggestions. all the way to the history of Italian Cinema with the Documentation Centre named after Giancarlo Basili.
