Overview
Situated on a rocky spur overhanging the Adriatic Sea, Fiorenzuola di Focara is a hamlet of the city of Pesaro and its territory lies in the centre of the Monte San Bartolo Regional Natural Park. The promontory on which Focara stands represents the eastern geographic border of Romagna: a border land, a land of passage, its name derives from the 'fires' that were lit on the highest point of the mountain to send signals to boats. These etymological roots tell of the close bond that unites the hamlet to the sea, its birth as a seaside village, a village that looks to the sea, that 'speaks' to the sea and to its sailors.
