Overview
The M.A.M.B. (Museum of Arts and Trades on Bicycles) is a one-of-a-kind museum dedicated to vintage bicycles once used for traditional trades. It offers a meaningful glimpse into Italian history from the 1920s to the 1960s, with strong social and educational value.
The bicycles on display, recovered from every corner of Italy and beyond, bear witness to the effort and hardship endured to overcome daily challenges and rebuild a dignified life during the difficult post-war periods of the two World Wars. Our collection is one of the largest in the country.
Founded in 2006 by the Agostinelli and Pellegrini families out of their shared passion, the project was revitalized in 2022 thanks to the commitment of Valentino Agostinelli, a cultural heritage expert and collector just like his grandfather Gino. After an initial phase hosted at the Galleria delle Arti, the museum found its permanent home in the evocative complex of "San Francesco Vecchio at Porta Cervara" in Fabriano, considered the city's oldest Franciscan convent, dating back to the late 13th century.
Here, our collection of fifty working bicycles is spread throughout the various floors of the convent, including its almost untouched underground chambers, offering visitors a fully immersive journey into the past.
During our guided tours, some bicycles are still fully functional and used for demonstrations, making the experience even more engaging.
