Livigno

Overview

The “Little Tibet” of Valtellina

Over 115 kilometres of ski pistes, snowshoeing trails and a fantastic array of outdoor activities: enjoy all this and much more in Livigno, the “Little Tibet” of Valtellina. Surrounded by pristine nature, it enjoys a unique location on a plateau at 1,800 metres above sea level, between the Stelvio National Park and the Engadine region of Switzerland.

Numerous state-of-the-art cable cars are available to take skiing enthusiasts to the highest peaks of the mountains around Livigno. Then, after taking off your skis and boots, you can while away the hours browsing the duty-free shops in the town centre or recharge your batteries at the Aquagranda Active You sports and spa complex.

To take a journey into the past, we recommend organising a guided tour of the local Dairy. Through the windows overlooking the production and maturing rooms, on weekday mornings you can observe some of the stages of milk processing. You can also visit the small museum that retraces local traditions, with historic tools and equipment.

In Livigno, the Larix Park, an adventure park located in a thousand-year-old larch forest, welcomes families, groups of friends or team-building activities. Adults and children alike can have fun and challenge themselves to walking from tree to tree on routes suspended in mid-air.

Finally, if you want to try authentic Valtellina cuisine, you will be spoilt for choice, with over a hundred restaurants, classic chalets and modern steakhouses.
