Overview
In the hilly Oltrepò area, in the valley of the Coppa stream. Its landscape includes a flat part, which is located between Mount Ceresino and Torre del Monte, where the main town is also located, and then extends over the vine-growing hills to the south of the municipality where the highest peaks, including Mount Reale (489 metres), are located. Its origins are uncertain, but some scholars believe that in ancient times it was part of the feud of Montebello. In addition to the characteristic historical centre, in Borgo Priolo we can admire the Parish Church, dedicated to San Carlo, of ancient foundation, which houses numerous works by local artists. Borgo Priolo had a Castle, some remains of which are visible incorporated into the built-up area. Not to be missed are the remains of the Castle of Stefanago, former residence of the Malaspina and Dal Verme families, which still preserve the charm of the medieval atmosphere.
