Overview
The colours are what immediately enchant you when you arrive in Santo Stefano al Mare. The colours of the sky, of the sea, of the houses, but also of the flowers: in fact, this small village is famous for its historical floricultural activity, and countless magnificent flowers are cultivated here every year, which contribute to making this little town even more beautiful. To arrive here is to lose oneself in an atmosphere of indefinite time, a bubble of wonder caressed by the sea: the small, colourful houses welcome one into the historic centre, where the narrow streets and the 16th-century tower still hint at the fear of pirate attacks that hovered in the air centuries ago. To discover the true heart of the village, however, it is necessary to move towards the seafront, where everything is intertwined with the sea and receives its energy from the sea: here, pretty little restaurants offer fish-based menus, the hustle and bustle of the fishermen reminds us of ancient times, and the tourist port, one of the largest and best equipped in the whole of Liguria, is a place of arrivals and departures, meetings and new voyages, as the sea, perpetual movement, has always wanted.
