Cippo dei Campioni

Overview

A homage to famous cyclists

Cyclists are sure to feel at home in Diano Marina, on the Riviera di Ponente. Cycling champions used to stay in this small Ligurian village to prepare for competitions such as the Milan-Sanremo or the Trofeo Laigueglia. To celebrate these great cyclists, it was decided to build a monument at the Belvedere viewpoint over the entire Golfo Dianese. And so the Cippo dei Campioni was born, inaugurated in 1981 and dedicated to Costante Girardengo and Fausto Coppi. In 2005, another bust was added, dedicated to cyclist Gino Bartali. A couple of years later, plaques signed by the greats of the Milan-San Remo became part of the monument. A further bust was added in 2020, portraying Felice Gimondi.

It is an unmissable destination for cycling fans, to pay homage to the champions who have written the history of this sport. In the background, the picture-perfect panorama will make your visit even more unforgettable.
