Collepardo

Overview

In the enchanting beauty of the Ernici mountains, rises the village of Collepardo, which welcomes us into its historic centre that still bears the traces of past centuries, in the tangle of narrow streets and small squares. Outside the built-up area, the beauty of the Ciocian hills welcomes our gaze and guides us towards a path to discover the Collepardo Caves, also known as 'dei Bambocci' (of the Bambocci) due to the very particular shapes that the stalactites and stalagmites have assumed over time, to arrive at the Pozzo d'Antullo, an enormous chasm that makes this area unique. Also worth seeing is the Charterhouse of Trisulti, a monastic complex begun in 1204 and extended until the 1700s, recognized as a national monument in 1873, with its famous liquor store, its pharmacy with its original 17th-century furnishings and its splendid Italian-style gardens.
