Today we propose a few ideas for experiences that will spark the interest of children, without boring adults, in and around Imola.

Day 1

Rocca Sforzesca in Imola

Rocca Sforzesca in Imola

The Rocca Sforzesca in the centre of the city can be discovered through the eyes of children, exploring the underground vaults that house the ancient cannons and bombards once used to defend the fortress. As you walk along the patrol walkways, you can imagine yourself as a soldier on guard duty. In the company of the whole family, children can also discover the rooms thanks to the explanatory panels, or they can be accompanied by a very special guide: thanks to the Imola App and the help of AI, Leonardo Da Vinci reveals all the secrets of the Fortress. Imola's Civic Museums also organise many workshops and activities for children, called Giocamuseo.

Day 2

Casa del Fiume

Casa del Fiume

La Casa del Fiume is one of the Visitor Centres of the Parco Regionale della Vena del Gesso Romagnola regional park and is located in Borgo Tossignano. Here, children can discover the area thanks to the "Gipsy and the magic of time" excursion. This is a geological-educational trail that allows families to explore a natural area characterised by the presence of chalk: Gipsy, the trail's little guide, is in fact a small piece of chalk that accompanies families on this journey.

Relax along the Santerno river

Relax along the Santerno river

In Fontanelice, descending towards the Santerno River, children can spot the fish and birds living in the Santerno Valley and take shelter in the shade of the trees. The area is perfect for a picnic where the river waters are shallow and the current is weak, along with the naturally occurring little beaches. The river park along the Santerno river is an ideal place to spend an afternoon with your family in nature.
