Laceno

Overview

Ski slopes a stone's throw from Naples

Who says that to find snow in central and southern Italy you have to go to Abruzzo or Molise? In the province of Avellino, you can find the only ski resort in Campania, an hour and a half's drive from Naples. We’re talking about Laceno, which offers visitors 16 kilometres of slopes and ski lifts that will take you up to an altitude of 1,650 metres, to the summit of Monte Cervialto. From the Nordic skiing track, you can enjoy spectacular views of the Gulf of Salerno. If you prefer cross-country skiing to downhill skiing, you are sure to love the two-kilometre-long loop.

In fine weather, you can don comfortable shoes and explore the surroundings. Lake Laceno is located in a beautiful karst valley nestled among the Monti Picentini mountain range, surrounded by the Raiamagra, Cervarolo and Piscacca peaks. There are also plenty of plateaus that can offer moments of rare peace and tranquillity, including Piano dei Vaccari, Piano Tizzano and Piano l'Acernese. You will also be left speechless by the springs and waterfalls of the Fiumara di Tannera trail, a true aquatic paradise surrounded by greenery that is at its best in spring.
