Pizzalto

Overview

Among the most sought-after locations in Roccaraso

In the heart of the Abruzzo Apennines, in the renowned municipality of Roccaraso, lies a resort that attracts many tourists and sports enthusiasts: Pizzalto, an area that rises from 1,500 to 2,195 metres above sea level.

The pure air you can breathe at the high altitude and the breath-taking views you can admire make this a particularly popular destination all year round. In summer, you can enjoy walking and trekking among the beauty of Pizzalto, which invites visitors to explore this enchanted landscape. There are plenty of dirt roads and hiking trails, as well as routes that you can enjoy on two wheels, by mountain bike. In winter, meanwhile, the area turns into a paradise for snow sports, thanks to the Alto Sangro ski resort.

Pizzalto is home to the Pizzalto-Roccaraso Ski Area, which offers alpine skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts kilometres of incredible slopes, modern facilities and efficient ski resort connections. There are also areas for children, solariums and refreshment areas, for the perfect mix of entertainment and wellbeing.
