Kandinsky and the Avant-gardes. Point and line to plane

The Venetian Civic Museum Foundation presents an original MUVE project at the Candiani Cultural Center in Mestre. Taking the entire content of this rich exhibition from its own collections. Many of these works were purchased by the Municipality of Venice in various editions of the Biennale, others were donated to the Gallery by the artists themselves.

The great international twentieth century talents will be exhibited, with Kandinsky, in an exhibition curated by Elisabetta Barisoni. View masterpieces by Paul Klee, Lyonel Feininger, Enrico Prampolini, Jean Arp, Victor Brauner, Joan Mirò, Antoni Tàpies, Yves Tanguy, Luigi Veronesi, Ben Nicholson, Karel Appel, Roberto Matta, Giuseppe Santomaso, Mario Deluigi, Tancredi, Mark Tobey , Emilio Vedova, Mirko Basaldella, Eduardo Chillida. Bruno De Toffoli, Julia Mangold, Luciano Minguzzi, Richard Nonas.

The exhibition accompanies the viewer on the fascinating journey of abstract art, from its birth, to our contemporary times, with over 40 masterpieces including paintings, works on paper and sculpture.

Following the line drawn by Wassily Kandinsky in his book "Point and line to plane" 1929, an attempt is made to reconstruct the creative path that has brought so much to fruition in the field of international contemporary art
