Overview
Sunday 13 and 20 August 2023 Volterra goes back in time, to the year domini 1398. Bold knights, nobles, monks, friars, craftsmen, and, of course, jugglers, musicians and jesters come together to evoke the magical atmosphere of the Middle Ages in the beautiful village of the province of Pisa.
Two days of shows, events, markets, workshops and music in the historic center and in the Castle Park, at the foot of the imposing Medici Fortress.
The only coin in circulation during the festival is the "Grosso Volterrano" with which you can buy handicrafts, dishes, wine and much more. The coins are available at "L'Officio Cambio" and those not used can be re-converted into euros at the Tourist Office.
