Overview
The Piano Fiscalina refuge is located at an altitude of 1450 metres in the beautiful Fiscalina, one of the most beautiful and evocative areas of lowland in the Puster Valley.
The Fiscalina Valley is much loved by families with children, as it's surrounded by larch forests, meadows and mountain huts. At the beginning of summer in particular, the meadows are filled with flowers, such as primroses, crocuses and gentians.
Not only is it a beautiful location, this valley is also famous for having one of South Tyrol's most scenic excursion routes: the tour of the Fiscalina Valley refuges.
The Piano Fiscalina refuge is the starting point for a long series of excursions in the Sexten Dolomites.
From the car park of the refuge, you enter the heart of the Dolomites along a road through the forest. In front of you stands the 'Croda Rossa di Sesto', with parts of the famous 'Meridiana di Sesto'– it's a majestic panorama.
