Overview
From June 16, 2024, to December 31, 2025, the exhibition “Treasures of Italy” will be held at Villa Aurea in the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento. It is an ambitious journey through the history of Italian art, from its origins to contemporary times: an 18-month narrative featuring three rotations of artworks and more than 60 masterpieces of Italian sculpture and painting, drawn from the most important civic, regional, and national museums as well as from the most prestigious private collections. The protagonists are some of the extraordinary masters of Italian painting and sculpture.
A remarkable historical journey spanning from the 15th to the 21st century, where visitors will recognize the antiquity, beauty, and profound cultural richness of the great Italian School, encountering works that are exciting, surprising, and of exceptional craftsmanship, all within a context unique in the world.
