Overview
When Ermenegildo Zegna decided to redevelop the area around his wool mill by filling it with vegetation, in addition to conifers he chose to plant hundreds of azaleas, dahlias, hydrangeas and especially rhododendrons, mostly from nurseries in Belgium. About 5 kilometres from Trivero, in the heart of theOasi Zegna, the Rhododendron basin is a true alpine garden that offers an explosion of colours between May and June. The current appearance is due to landscape architect Pietro Porcinai who worked on the project in the 1960s, together with the intervention of architect Paolo Pejrone, author of a more recent restyling.
