Overview
Facing the Lake Garda, the village of Tignale stands on a plateau of olive trees and orchards: from the belvedere of the village you can enjoy an enchanting panorama and your gaze sweeps from the blue of the lake to the green of the woods that frame it. Six small nuclei make up the village and tell of their medieval roots in the details of the old houses and the small alleys that criss-cross them. An ancient atmosphere has remained intact here, made all the more pleasant by the scent of the vegetation and the reflections of the lake. Leaving the village, a steep climb leads to the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Monte Castello, which faces the lake, perched on a rocky outcrop, a place of great faith and still a place of pilgrimage. Thanks to its position and climate, very high quality olives are cultivated here, from which the famous Garda DOP extra virgin olive oil is obtained.
