Pitelli

Overview

Pitelli, a charming hamlet of the city of La Spezia, stands on the green hills overlooking the Golfo dei Poeti: looking out over its splendid sea, this ancient village is embraced by a landscape of great beauty, close to the Montemarcello-Magra-Vara Regional Park. Its origin dates back to the 16th century and since then, life in the village has always been linked to both the sea and the surrounding mountains. Its beauty is also expressed in the goodness of its typical dishes: the famous Ligurian focaccia and the sweet rice cake with puff pastry, which have been included in the regional register of typical products with the approval of the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, are definitely worth tasting. But that's not all: also not to be missed are the traditional 'mes ciua', 'sgabei', stuffed ravioli, and the local olive oil, excellent for enhancing any dish. All around, the beauty of the paths leading from the heights to the sea, ideal for walking or mountain biking.
