May Day: The 1 May concert in Rome

Overview

The May Day Concert is the largest free live music event in Europe and is held annually in Piazza San Giovanni in Rome.

First inaugurated back in 1990, the event is sponsored by the CGIL, CISL and UIL and attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators.  The concert is also broadcast live in full by RAI 3 and RAI Radio 2.

Simultaneously a music marathon, a television programme and a street event, it aims to please everyone while keeping the quality high and boasts with a background of social content that is always present and lively.

The 2023 cast is still being finalised. 

USEFUL INFO:
- admission to the concert is free
- access to the square is free and subject to availability
- no booking is necessary for the May Day Concert 2023
- to access the disabled zone, you can simply make yourself known at the gates and show your disability certificate. Only one helper is allowed
