Overview
Giovanni Pascoli's birthplace was declared a national monument by the Italian state in 1924. Pascoli's own furniture can still be seen. La casa-museo è costellata di vari cimeli e ricordi storici come lettere autografe, fotografie familiari e autografi di illustri visitatori. It is worth remembering that many of Pascoli's poems are permeated with memories of the serene life he spent in San Mauro, moments he recalled with great nostalgia and affection, largely due to his strong relationship with his family and his love for his homeland.
